With the help of Ritchies Coachlines in Dunedin we initially validated our real time approach by running a 12 bus service for a section of the Dunedin service. The initial service ran in a fully automated manner, aside from a few trips down to the bus depot to install and support our early hardware, meaning the bus operator did not need to ‘manage’ the system.
